AI developers are licensing internal records from established companies to train their models. Process manuals, help desk history, CRM notes, project archives, QA logs and team chat all qualify. It is a license, so you keep your data and keep using it. Interested in selling? See if your business fits the program in under a minute.

Rate ten parts of your business and see where you sit on the five level maturity scale.
Process maturity is a simple idea: the more your company relies on clear, measured, written processes instead of individual heroes, the more mature it is. The five level scale, made popular by the CMMI model, runs from Initial, where work is improvised, to Optimizing, where processes are measured and improved on purpose. This assessment applies that scale to ten everyday areas, including documentation, quality checks, knowledge sharing, CRM use, project delivery, onboarding and data governance. For each one, pick the description that matches what usually happens, not what happens on your best day. You get an overall level, a score for every area and specific next steps for the three areas holding you back.
| Area | Level | Where you are |
|---|
The overall level is an average, so one strong area can hide a weak one. Look at the area table. Any area at level 1 or 2 is a risk to the whole operation, no matter how good the average looks.
This is the most valuable jump. It mostly comes down to writing core processes down, putting them in one place and training everyone to follow them. It does not require expensive software.
Every SOP, checklist, QA log and project summary created along the way is a business asset. Together they make the company more resilient and more attractive to buyers, investors and AI companies looking to license real operational data.
Level 1 Initial: work is ad hoc. Level 2 Repeatable: basic habits exist but vary. Level 3 Defined: standard written processes are used everywhere. Level 4 Managed: processes are measured. Level 5 Optimizing: processes are improved continuously using data.
No. A formal CMMI appraisal is done by certified assessors and focuses on specific practice areas. This is a quick self assessment that borrows the same five level idea to give you a practical starting point.
Level 3 is the practical target for most companies with 20 to 200 people. It means core work is written down and repeatable, so quality no longer depends on who happens to do the job.
Every six to twelve months, or after a big change such as rapid hiring, a new system or a merger. Track your area scores over time to see whether improvement work is paying off.
Mature companies are easier to run, scale and sell because they do not depend on a few people. Their records, such as SOPs, QA logs and project histories, are also valuable on their own, including to AI firms that license business data.
